No word on actions against DepCor officers assigned to transport

Posted: Updated:

Guam - There's no word on whether the Department of Corrections will take any action against two officers who were assigned to transport duties during the escape of accused murderer Keith Garrido. DepCor director Jose San Agustin announced plans to serve notices of adverse action last Friday and then delayed that until today, but as of news time there was no response from officials with the agency.

The two officers were assigned to the transport vehicle when Garrido reportedly managed to use a staple to get out of his handcuffs and jumped out of the unlocked van. Garrido fled and broke into a home and brutally beat and robbed a woman, leaving her unconscious before he was apprehended.
