Guam - Committee chair on education Speaker Judi Won Pat speaks up on the CoreTech deal. Although not on island, in a release from her office, she asks that Governor Eddie Calvo ask for at least a three month extension on the December 31 deadline to pursue the option to purchase Tiyan. She notes that because GovGuam is the only tenant and with no competition, there should be no rush in the purchase agreement that can and should be negotiated to a more affordable price for the people of Guam.

She also recommends that GovGuam continue to explore its options, including redistricting and shifting our school models to reflect a junior high model which means eighth to ninth graders attend the same school.

The speaker also requests a copy of the purchasing agreement for the legislature to review.
