Guam - Police have released the identity of two men who drowned on Christmas day in the waters off the Jonestown overlook. 37-year-old Katwin Dois of Tamuning and 40-year-old Edward Sotam were pronounced dead after Guam Fire Department search and rescue personnel recovered them from the water.
Police say the men had been drinking with two others when Dois fell and hit his head on a rock and was unconscious. Sotam and two others went to his rescue. One contacted emergency personnel while the other went with Sotam in the water to try and get their friend but were unable to with the hazardous currents.
The Legislative Ethics Committee has dismissed the complaint against Senator Fernando Esteves, and says it considers the matter closed. Resident Barry Mead filed the complaint against Esteves for his role in a protest earlier this year against the live fire training range at Andersen Air Force Base's Northwest Field.More >>
