Senate passes budget

Guam - The U.S. Senate late this afternoon Guam time passed a budget which the Calvo Administration confirms includes a lump sum appropriation for defense spending. As we reported the FY14 NDAA is still in the Senate. And if passed would allow for about half a billion dollars of infrastructure projects related to the realignment of Marines from Okinawa to Guam. The bill is likely gain Senate approval in the next couple days. According to Governor Calvo if approved this is significant because the construction activity will be a boost to Guam's economy creating jobs for our workers and our people.
