Guam - As Guam's soldiers make their way home from their nine-month deployment to Afghanistan, there's news the U.S. Department of Labor will provide financial assistance to those service members who are unemployed. The funding is made available through the island's inclusion in the Unemployment Compensation for Ex-Service Members program.
It was two months ago when Senator Aline Yamashita introduced a resolution to start deliberations on Guam's participation in this program. It's now up to the local Department of Labor to work on the logistics and details for implementation locally.
