Guam - Governor Eddie Calvo has returned from the nation's capital where he had several important discussions including some with the Department of Transportation and secretary Anthony Foxx. Calvo says highways and the Maritime Administration were also in attendance as discussions focused on upgrades at the Port Authority.
"One thing that was a clear theme with dept of transportation was trust. There's a lot of trust that has been built between our local government administration and federal agencies such as transportation. We feel very positive about things. We're moving along on the major construction projects at the Port," he said.
Governor Calvo says they also discussed the continued efforts in keeping Central Avenue open as the Tiyan Parkway project begins.
