Barrigada man injured in car crash passes away

Guam - An 18-year-old Barrigada man who was injured in a serious car crash in Mangilao nearly two weeks ago died at the Naval Hospital on Friday night. Guam Police Department spokesperson Officer AJ Balajadia says police received a call just after 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, November 10 about a serious car crash.  

Balajadia says a 2008 Mazda CX9 with two occupants, and a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon with five occupants collided into each other on Route 10, by Price Elementary School, Mangilao.  Rafael Joaquin was identified as the driver of the Hyundai and passed away at Naval Hospital on Friday.  

His death marks the island's 16th traffic-related fatality this year.  Guam Highway Patrol is currently conducting an investigation.
