Medical mission heading to the Philippines

Guam - The first wave of the Guam Medical Association's mission to the Philippines heads out tomorrow. Today a final briefing was held in Dr. Tom Shieh's conference room. The Guam delegation will rendevouz with a team from St. Luke's Medical Center and then head to Cebu, one of the many provinces devastated from Supertyphoon Yolanda.

The mission officially begins on Sunday with a trip to supertyphoon ravaged Daanbantayan.

On Sunday the mission team will head to Sogod where they will provide medical relief to victims of the super storm.  Supertyphoon Yolanda left thousands of Filipinos dead and missing and close two million homeless. The GMA is planning three missions to the Philippines.

    Inmate Found Dead at Mangilao Prison

    An inmate is found dead at the Department of Correction prison overnight. Corrections officers reported inmate Luis Hocog was found unresponsive inside his Post 16 cell around 11 pm on Friday. The officer contacted the platoon commander of the situation and requested for medical assistance, a news release stated.
