Guam - The island community continues to show support for victims of Supertyphoon Yolanda, which devastated the Philippines nearly three weeks ago.
Immediately following the typhoon, Calvo Enterprises committed to provide typhoon relief for our brothers and sisters in the Philippines and today presented a $25,000 check to the Filipino Community of Guam. Calvo's Insurance vice president and general manager Paul Calvo said, "And of course all of us here at Guam we all have an attachment to the Philippines because many of us have Filipino blood running through our veins over the centuries. We have a very close affinity, so our brothers and sisters in the Philippines they know they would do the same for us when we have a disaster."
The Philippines Consulate on Guam meanwhile has since received $30,000 that will be given to the Philippine Red Cross and the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
