Guam rallies to send aide to Philippines

Guam - The island's telecommunications carriers are doing their part to raise funds and collect goods for  Operation Guam Cares, our island community's collective effort to send help and aide to the victims of Supertyphoon Yolanda in the Philippines. Over at GTA,  collection buckets for donations are situated at all of the company's retail locations. all proceeds will go to the Filipino Community of Guam.

At IT&E, 5% of every wireless card sales at will be donated to the relief effort. IT&E postpaid and prepaid subscribers can also donate by texting either 1, 5, or 10 in a text message to 4357 (help) and donate either $1, $5, or $10. And at Shell stations, $0.05 for every gallon of gas purchased at shell gas stations on Guam and Saipan will be donated to the relief effort.

DOCOMO Pacific's efforts include letting mobile customers donate $5 by texting "DONATE" to 4357 (HELP), as well as having donation boxes at all retail locations.

Paradise Fitness Center is inviting the public to join in the effort to raise funds for the families and communities in need of aid in the wake of Yolanda. donation drop boxes are available at the front counter of both Paradise Fitness locations in Hagatna and Dededo. Limited edition relief t-shirts are available for pre-order and purchase at $15.  In addition, Paradise Fitness Center are opening all group classes to the public at $5 a class and on Monday's from 5pm to 8:30pm all classes will be $1 or by donation. All proceeds to benefit Operation Guam Cares.

Zumba fitness instructors throughout the island are collaborating in an effort to raise funds to help the victims. They're  putting together a huge and exciting fundraiser event: Operation Yolanda Guam Z.Lovers Relief Drive on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the University of Guam Field House from 6pm to 8pm.  Tickets are pre-sold for $10 and $12 at the event.   For more info contact Rizel Fernandez at  488-1206, Irish Olivares at 898-3077, Dhang Sommers at 685-2526 or Leah Del Mundo at leahdelmundo671@gmail.com.
