Guam - Governor Eddie Calvo has been appointed to serve on the National Governor's Association's Homeland Security and Public Safety Committee.

According to a release, Governor Calvo will use this opportunity to push for Guam's important issues on a high-profile, national level. And just as many states are facing cuts to their National Guard units, Governor Calvo will work with the other governors in his committee to fight for the National Guard units in the states and territories and protect them from further congressional budget cuts. The position meanwhile will also allow Governor Calvo to request NGA support for Guam's mission to be granted a visa waiver program for China.
