Guam - In the face of tragedy humanitarian efforts continue bringing much-needed aid to areas affected by Supertyphoon Yolanda in the Philippines. The Guam Medical Association is getting ready to send a team of medical professionals.
GMA president Dr. Thomas Sheih told KUAM News, "We are actually planning on two waves of medical mission to the Philippines we will discuss that on this Thursday night...we are looking for family practice we looking at pediatricians we are look at surgeons OB/GYNs; we also looking at any specialty but we actually looking at people who have some experience in medical missions."
The first team will leave within the next week and a half. In addition, the GMA along with other allied health providers came together to raise over $27,000 in 24 hours which will be donated to the Philippine Red Cross for supplies.
