Guam - Formerly known as Haiyan, Supertyphoon Yolanda slammed the Philippines today where it reportedly left three people dead so far.   The storm is packing winds of up to 195 miles per hour, making it one of the strongest storms ever recorded on the planet.

Yolana was forecasted to pass just north of Cebu, the second largest city in the Philippines and home to about 2.5 million people.

As the super storm approached Philippine president Benigno Aquino III warned the nation that it faced a calamity.

Meanwhile here at home, the Filipino Community of Guam at this time is just asking island residents to pray for the families that are being impacted by the supertyphoon.

President Roy Adonay adds a mass will be held tonight at seven o'clock at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church in Tamuning. He adds the Philipine Consul General for Guam will also be there to provide updates to island residents about the storm after the mass.
