Guam - After the Supreme Court of Guam reversed and vacated his conviction, Alvin Gerard San Nicolas was back in court today and asserted his right to a speedy trial. San Nicolas was convicted of 16 counts of criminal sexual conduct for sexually assaulting a female minor repeatedly while her mother was deployed and forcing her to smoke methamphetamine.
The island's high court found that when the indictment was amended, new charges that were not found by the grand jury were created and the conviction was reversed. Another criminal trial setting is scheduled for November 13.
