Guam - Bill 181 is currently under legal review by the Governor's Office following passage by lawmakers Tuesday. Bill 181 provides bond authorization for the Guam Waterworks Authority's half a billion dollar bond.

In the meantime, the Guam Economic Development Authority is now prepared to go out the bond market and once again meet with investors. GEDA administrator Henry Taitano said, "We've had some amazing success with the ratings and what that means from the GEDA perspective and the administration's standpoint is the necessities of GWA will be able to be financed at better deals then what would have been if the ratings weren't as good. There's a lot of hard work that goes into those ratings presentations and we go out there and tell the Guam story."

It was just yesterday when GWA received an "A-" rating and a stable outlook from Standard & Poor's rating services for its series 2013 water and wastewater system revenue bonds.
