Guam - The U.S Navy has rescheduled its public meetings for the Mariana Islands Training and Testing (MITT) Draft Environmental Impact Statement and Overseas EIS for next month. It was earlier this month when the public hearings were postponed as a result of the federal government shutdown. As a result, the comment period has also been extended to December 12. The Navy proposes to continue to conduct training and testing activities which may include the use of active sonar and explosives in the MITT study areas. The public meetings are set to be held on Guam, Saipan, Tinian and rota. Specifically for Guam a public meeting will be held on November 12 at UOG's School of Business and Public Administration Building Multi-Purpose Room 129 from 5-8pm.
