Guam - Heads-up for Southern High School parents effective Monday, classes will be starting an hour earlier than usual to accommodate schools who share the same buses.
Because of the distance between southern schools, elementary students were arriving late to campus in the morning hours and middle school students left waiting for the bus for more than an hour after dismissal.
DOE superintendent Jon Fernandez says this is a temporary solution as he will continue to work with DPW to address the issue as well as monitor student performance as a result of the changes.
Classes at SHS will start at 6:50 a.m. and dismiss at 1:20 p.m.
