Guam - Data for the fourth quarter of the Fiscal Year 2013 (July 2013 to September 2013) Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, better known as food stamps, is out.

In a release from the Department of Public Health and Social Services, clients were reported to have intentionally violated rules under both SNAP and the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) programs.

In total, nine individuals were disqualified for snap totaling over $56,000 in restitution. A total of 2 individuals were disqualified for TANF totaling over $2,000 in restitution.

Public Health notes many of the disqualifications were a result of failing to report the loss of household members or report timely employment while another was penalized for paying for credited items with the EBT card, an action considered trafficking.
