Guam - A 40-year-old man died from injuries he sustained when he crashed into a concrete pole in Upper Tumon this afternoon. Lunchtime traffic was backed up along Marine Corps Drive as police and medics responded to the incident.

GPD Officer Allan Guzman says the lone driver of a FedEx van was heading south on Route 1 when he collided with the pole. He was transported to GMH where he was pronounced dead.  GPD's Highway Patrol Division is currently investigating the incident.

The driver was identified as Roland Reyes. An autopsy will be conducted on Tuesday.
