Guam - The site for the island's annual Liberation Day Carnival in Tiyan is set to turn into a weekend night market.

Mayors Council of Guam executive director Angel Sablan says the anticipated opening is November 8. "It's going to be every weekend until, or hopefully it becomes an annual thing. We want it to succeed. We want the people of Guam to have another venue where they can come out over the weekend and enjoy with their families," he explained.

Night market hours will run from 6 p.m. to midnight on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays and depending on demand, may include Mondays.

The MCOG is working with the Governor's Office and the Guam Visitors Bureau to make the night market a reality.

Interested vendors are encouraged to call the MCOG offices.
