Guam - The 2nd Annual Guam Rugby 7's Tournament presented by
Heineken wrapped up at the U.O.G Field with 10 men's teams taking part in the
competition. The two day tournament featured the Lions and Hurao in the
championship game. Both teams stacked with talent along with history playing
against one another. The game started out with great passing from Hurao that
led to Frank "Kikoman" Shimizu breaking thru the line and scoring
under the post. Steven Sablan hit the extra point to bring the score to 7-0.
John Arceo put the Lions on board after taking the pass from Michael Cruz 25
meters to the try zone. The kick after was no good keeping Hurao up 7-5. Rob
Leon Guerrero added another try for the Lions before the half to give them the
12-5 lead. Hurao's PJ Calvo scooped up the loose ball and went in to tie the
game at 12 after the point after was successful. Matt Sgro ran in the game
winning try seconds before time expired to help lift Hurao to the Heineken
Rugby 7s Cup with the 17-12 win.
