The Guam Election Commission continues it quest for new tabulation machines.
During its meeting Wednesday, GEC executive director Maria Pangelinan further discussed correspondence with its vendor election systems and software which continued to note that the repair of GEC's current machines would be cost prohibitive.
And at last night's meeting they unanimously agreed this has been eliminated, the option of repairing the equipment has been eliminated, so now the commission is out to look for outright purchase or to rent or lease equipment for the upcoming election.
ES&S has indicated they are prepared to deliver election tabulation solutions for next year's election in any configuration or alternatives most appropriate for Guam. Pangelinan adds she is finalizing the draft of a request for interest that she will be sending out to vendors and possibly posting on the election commission and assistance website once its approved by commissioners when they reconvene it's meeting next week.
