Guam - It's a day not many can say they will ever live to see. But today Juaquina Mendiola Roberto of Talofofo is one of the few who is celebrating her 100th birthday.

Over the years Juaquina has worn many hats, a wife, mother of five, scout and educator her family is proud to celebrate a century of memories fondly reminiscing on a life filled with accomplishments and good will. "She is a Christian mother president, works for the church a lot she spent forty-two years with the Department of Education number of things I can add to make the story more beautiful," said her husband John.

Twenty years the elder to her husband, he has no complaints about the life they have shared together, expressing his excitement in being able to wish her a happy 100th birthday. "Very wonderful sixty three years lo no complain about it but we were always more than average for the last sixty three years we were always together no matter what we pull together," he said.

Although at times a woman of few words, her will is strong. What's her secret to living to 100 years young? "Eat good," she said.

According to her family Juaquina has no medical issues and attributing her longevity to simply eating good she says the secret to reaching one-hundred is just that, eat good.

A true milestone her family looks forward to celebrating this joyous occasion with a mass. Cathy McCullen said, "They are going to just say mass for her and I believe Madeline Bordallo is going to present a resolution President Obama also is going to present a resolution they are going to make her Juaquina Mendiola Roberto Day."

The mass and presentation will be held Saturday, September 14th at 5 pm at the San Miguel Catholic Church in Talofofo. Family, friend s and the community is invited to the celebration. From all of us at KUAM happy 100th birthday!
