Guam - It was last week when the Department of Public Works indicated that an additional $1.3 million in appropriations was needed to move the Tiyan Parkway project forward.

During Tuesday's budget session, lawmakers did exactly that by including the $1.3 million appropriation in the new budget to DPW for the acquisition of property specifically two lots totaling over 2,600-hundred square feet in Barrigada. The provision also notes that unexpended funds would also continue to be available to DPW for future acquisitions of three additional lots.

The section, outlined in the Miscellaneous Provisions, in the new budget bill also requires the DPW director to submit a report to the governor and Guam Legislature no later than 180 days after the enactment detailing the transactions of the funds.
