Calvo seeks $9M more in Section 30 funding

by Ken Quintanilla

Guam - Governor Eddie Calvo, in a letter written today to the Department of the Interior, has requested for an additional $9 million in Section 30 funds.

BBMR director John Rios says every year the Department of Revenue & Taxation and DOI reconcile the Section 30 funds owed to Guam.

Because of the addition of $9 million, the Guam Legislature will now have to take into account the additional funds and need to amend the substituted budget bill. Rios adds he is unsure if this is why lawmakers recessed session quickly on Thursday.
