More Tax Refunds Checks Being Cut

by Sabrina Salas Matanane

Guam - Another $12 million in tax refunds will be released tomorrow. Governor Eddie Calvo made that announcement at Adelup this morning. The $12 million equates to about 4,800 tax payers receiving a check. And who filed their taxes up to March 24th. The checks are being cut today.  The governor maintains this is significant in that the Department of Revenue & Taxation has surpassed the $100 million mark for the current fiscal year. Calvo saying this is the first time in Guam's history to pay out $100 million in tax refunds in a single fiscal year without using a bond.  Calvo says one of the reasons why they decided to release the refunds was because parents were asking for relief as their children head back to school.
