Woman indicted for housing allowance fraud

Guam - Cassie Hernandez has been indicted. She's accused of defrauding the Defense Finance and Accounting Service in receiving $15,000 in Overseas Housing Allowance funds. According to court documents Hernandez was allegedly claiming she was paying monthly rental payments to her father for her occupy a home in Santa Rita. She's accused of falsely claiming that no-other non-dependent adults were paying a portion of the rent, mortgage and or utilities for that same home. And she's accused of submitting a fake real estate rental lease. Hernandez allegedly perpetrated this fraud between April of 2010 to September 2011. She is scheduled to appear for an arraignment hearing in the District Court on July 24th before Magistrate Judge Joaquin Manibusan, Jr.
