by Jolene Toves

Guam - 65-year-old Jesus Santos Duenas was arrested this afternoon just after 3 pm as a result of a marijuana bust which uncovered 10 marijuana plants at a home in Astumbo Gardens.

GPD was investigating a possible connection between a GPD officer assigned to Executive Security and the residence.  As it turns out the officer in question was Jefferey Duenas, who is listed as a co-owner of the home and Jesus identified as his father. GPD spokesperson Lt Art Paulino said, "The investigation determined that Officer Duenas does not reside at the residence and does not frequent the residence at this time he has been cleared of any involvement regarding the manufacturing of a Scheduled I Substance at the residence."

Paulino could not say when the last time Jefferey visited the residence but based on interviews there is no probable cause to arrest Officer Duenas for this offense. He adds this case is closed and no further arrests is foreseen.
