GMH adding 50 new parking spaces by end of the month

by Krystal Paco

Guam - Paying a visit to the Guam Memorial Hospital may get a little easier as GMH administrator Joseph Verga says they added 20 new parking spots last week.

By the end of the month, Verga says GMH will add an additional 30 as well as add proper signage designating visitor and employee parking.

As to whether they'll implement parking fees, Verga says that idea is still on the table for discussion, but the latest additions will provide some immediate relief.

Ultimately, plans include modifying the parking lot's central island to include 25 to 30 diagonal spaces on either side as well as demolishing the old MRI building to add spaces - what he estimates could cost up to 200-thousand dollars.

Without capital funds however, the project cannot reach fruition.
