DOE Headstart program receives retroactive pay

Guam - If you're a DOE employee awaiting your increments and retroactive pay, you may have to wait until the end of the month.

But if you're a Headstart program employee, your check has already been cut.

As DOE superintendent Jon Fernandez reports, a total of $30,000 in increments and retroactive pay has been released to Headstart employees because the program is federally-funded and grant money expired June 30.

Meanwhile, the rest of DOE will just have to wait as Fernandez says he's working with the Department of Administration to make the payouts by the end of July, dependent on the availability of funding.

This follows Governor Eddie Calvo's lift on the freeze in late May.
