School theft caught by police

Guam - A man wanted for stealing prizes for a school fundraiser was captured. According to GPD spokesperson Art Paulino the theft occurred on June 30.

"Late yesterday Sgt Bagaforo from the Tamuning Precinct put out a wanted flyer for a Mr. Drake S. Smau he's male Palauan age 27 residing in the Dededo Liguan Terrace area," said a GPD spokesman.

Smau is accused of stealing a $600 Samsung cell phone and an envelope containing $500 in cash.  The theft occurred at a school fundraiser held local hotel where he was employed. Closed circuit video of the banquet room allowed officers to positively identify Smau as the perpetrator. Smau was picked up by police around lunch time today. He was arrested on felony theft charges and was booked and confined.
