Guam - The Guam Police Department's Highway Patrol Division is investigating an auto-pedestrian incident that occurred just before 8 o'clock last night in Harmon. According to police spokesperson Lt. Art Paulino the incident occurred along Route 16 near the road entering into Saint Paul's School. The victim was transported to GMH.  The incident involved off-duty police officer Eugene Charfauros who was driving his car heading up the hill when he collided with the man, who has not yet been identified. "Highway Patrol reports that Officer Charfauros was not inebriated we do not know at this time if the pedestrian was intoxicated or impaired under any drugs we're waiting for a lab test from GMH," said Paulino.

It has also not been determined whether speed was a contributing factor. Paulino adds that its normal procedure that once highway is done with its investigation that the findings be forwarded to internal affairs. The chief of police will announce later if there any violations on the part of the officer. As for the victim he is listed in stable condition at GMH.
