Guam - Malaria, dengue fever, and other mosquito diseases may not be endemic on Guam but awareness efforts important nonetheless as the Department of Public Health recognizes National Mosquito Control Awareness Week this week.
At home, you can do your part by eliminating standing water in low lying areas of your yard, canopy tarps, and covering items like boats, swimming pools, grills and emptying receptacles that typically collect water.
For yourself, wearing light colored, loose fitting clothes and applying insect repellent can keep you mosquito-bite free.
