Guam - A member of the Guam Guard who is accused of receiving
overseas housing allowance funds he was not entitled to has pleaded not guilty
to federal theft charges. Kenneth Pablo appeared in the District Court today to
answer to charges of theft of government property and making a fraudulent claim
against the United States.
According to the indictment, Pablo is accused of receiving more
than $80,000 from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service from February 2010
to April of last year.
Pablo allegedly claimed he was paying monthly rent to his brother
by submitting a false real estate lease.
He was released on his own recognizance and the trial is set for May
28.
