Guam - Learning to check IDs and saying no to individuals who are
too intoxicated are just some of the skills bar owners, managers, servers, and
sellers will learn at the free responsible beverage service training set for
next week. Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse public information
officer Sara Dimla says the trainings are made possible through the agency, the
Department of Youth Affairs, and the Department of Public Health.
She said, "We have a big problem with binge drinking and
underage drinking. We feel this is one of the ways that we can solve that
problem by bringing that responsibility to the people at the forefront, like
the people who are serving alcohol we need them to know how they can enforce
the laws from behind the bar."
The training is set for March 18 from 1-4pm at the Sinajana Mayor's
Office. Bars and restaurants can also schedule trainings for their employees.
