Guam - Two Guam Waterworks Authority employees were arrested following a surprise drug sweep at the Upper Tumon facility on Friday afternoon. GWA Spokesperson Heidi Ballendorf confirms the arrests but could not provide details of who was arrested or the charges.
As we reported, GWA General Manager Martin Rousch requested the assistance of Customs and Quarantine officers and the canine unit to conduct a random sweep of the facility. Ballendorf said there was nothing that prompted the sweep but Rousch simply wanted to make sure employees are not using illegal substances.
