Guam - Port Authority oversight chairman Senator Tom Ada is
seeking more information on the balance of the Port Enterprise Fund related to
the port modernization programs. Ada says its concerning the agency doesn't
have an accurate and up to date assessment of the fund, considering it is the
primary source for upland improvements.
General manager Joanne Brown says she has requested an update from
the Maritime Administration on the current expenditures. She adds many of the
concerns were addressed in the Port's information briefing presentation and
isn't concerned as the projects are moving forward.
She will be providing a written response but says while the
senator has chosen to take a confrontational stance and is trying to portray
the matter as if he's the only one concerned, she along with the men and women
at the Port are concerned if not more so and are conscious of the projects and
funding irrelevant of any letter.
