Guam - The Guam National Guard kicked off their annual Tag Cup 2013 event with bowling at Central Lanes in Tamuning. Each team consists of 5 bowlers with a minimum of 1 female. Captain Arnold Arizala talked about this year's bowling event, telling KUAM Sports, "The reason why we chose bowling as the kickoff event is because it is one of the more popular events for the Tag Cup. As you can see we have over 120 participants for this event. One of the largest events that we have for the year and one of the more popular events. Currently we have 23 teams from the Army Guard, Air Guard, Department of Military Affairs and their spouses.

"The reason why we have this event is because it's not often that we get together as a guard unit and a lot of times we are in our own area doing our own work. So this allows us the opportunity to see each other and see other guard members and their families. I would like to thank Central Lanes for allowing us to participate in this event and all of their support and all of the family members and guard members who are here today."
