Guam - Things will be cooling down in classrooms around the island. The Office of Public Accountability upheld the Department of Education's decision to award a contract to JRN Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Inc. The department selected JRN for preventative maintenance and minor repairs for split and central air conditioning equipment for 35 of the island's schools.
JRN was, in fact, the lowest bidder at close to $535,000 while protestor J&B came in at $831,000.
Doe facilities and maintenance manager Billy Cruz says the decision is welcome news as there are 400 A/Cs in need of repair throughout the department, with at least one running in each classroom.
