Guam - The Guam Election Commission
certified all the results of the general election during its Wednesday meeting.
The commission also addressed four additional complaints filed since its last
meeting including three questioning the criminal record of Umatac mayor-elect
Johnny Quinata and one from Patrick Iriarte contesting the election results
citing possible fraud and a conspiracy to suppress his candidacy as a write-in
for congressional delegate.
The GEC legal counsel will issue a
response to all complaints, however, we should note this does not impact the
certified results. GEC executive director Maria Pangelinan says anyone can file
an election contest with the court within 15 days after the certification.
The GEC will next meet again on
December 19.
