Guam - At least 600
soldiers with the Guam Army National Guard's 1-294th Infantry Regiment will be
conducting a Command Run in around Hagatna Saturday morning. The large group
recently returned from three weeks annual training in Camp
Roberts, California, as they prepare
to deploy to Afghanistan
in February of next year.
Command Sergeant Major David Flores advises motorists to drive
slow and encourages residents to participate and support your Guam
soldiers. "It is also part of our US Army traditions where a commander
will take his troops out for run to promote esprit de corps and at the same
time we'll be running the community so the island can see and experience the
showcase of our battalion," he said.
The Command Run will begin around 5am at Adelup this Saturday.
