Guam - Today, Guam was the first in the nation to Celebrate
America Recycle's Day and at the University
of Guam - UOG Green and
the Center for Island Sustainability celebrated in style by hosting a fun day
full of activities and information on 'going green'. UOG senior vice president
for academy and student affairs Helen Whippy said, The University of Guam is
happy to the be the first in the world to do America recycles day, we're where
America day's begin and we're where America recycling begins so we're doing an
educational outreach to students, staff and anybody in Mangilao that comes by."
People were given the chance to take the America Recycles Day
Pledge and according to Whippy, on average over 31,000 people nation wide take
the pledge and on Guam alone, one thousand
