Guam - 200 school officials
from around the island as well as Department of Education Central Office
employees get schooled on the proper use of federal government funding at a Fiscal
Year 2012 consolidated grant training session.
According to DOE superintendent Jon Fernandez, participants are
learning to properly manage programs to ensure they're in compliance with
federal requirements. He says Guam receives
approximately $20 million annually in federal funding for programs that include
Success for All, Direct Instruction, teacher training, and professional
development purposes.
