Guam - It was late last month when Vice Speaker B.J. Cruz's Committee
on General government operations held its last roundtable discussion to discuss
the governor's spending cuts bills specifically provisions related to the Government
of Guam Retirement Fund. According to Cruz, after hearing from all parties
relative to Bill 507, he hopes to complete the committee report by the end of
this week.
He tells KUAM News that feedback from all the public hearings on
the bill including the Retirement Fund's opposition to the governor's proposals
to an early retirement incentive program will be taken into account when
completing the report.
The report should be complete in time for when the Committee on Rules
meets on Monday, November 19 at 2pm to set the agenda for session, which Speaker
Judi Won Pat has called for the following day at 9am.
