Guam - Ordot residents were
given an update on post-closure plans for the now closed Ordot Dump facility.
According to village mayor Jessy Gogue, representatives from federal receiver Gershman,
Brickner & Bratton, the Guam EPA and the USEPA came out to give the latest timelines.
"Yesterday's meeting validated that by the end of this month
the design for the dump closure will be about 40 percent completed and
submitted to USEPA for their review and that by the end of 2013," the
mayor said.
Gogue anticipates the actual closure work will begin in 2014. Once
that happens the receiver noted they will then fix Dero Road. In the meantime, GBB will make
its next quarterly report to the District Court on December 5.
