Parent-teacher meeting on Southern uniform policy

Guam - Parents of children at Southern High School are hoping to clear up the confusion with the school administrators regarding their uniform policy. SHS's new leadership team has stepped-up enforcement of the policy. Several students were even referred to the office because they were wearing inappropriate bottoms.

A parent of one of the students has requested that a representative from the superintendent's office be at tonight's Parent Teacher Student Organization meeting.  Her daughter has been referred to the office four times in five school days for uniform violations. Her latest infraction was because her pants were made of jeans material although they were in compliance with the color and length outlined in the school handbook. 

According to SHS principal Gaylene Cruz, the uniform policy is not on the agenda but it could be brought up during the open discussion period of the meeting.
