Reduced water pressure in southern villages

Guam - A glitch at the Ugum Water Treatment Plant has resulted in some southern discomfort as parts of Yona, Talofofo, Malojloj, Inarajan, Merizo and Umatac may have experienced low-to-no water pressure today. Unfortunately it's expected to continue until tomorrow night. GWA spokesperson Heidi Ballendorf says the computer systems that run the plant experienced a problem causing the plant to shut down.

Water tankers are available at the Yona Mayor's Office, at the area across from Inarajan Middle School and at the Merizo Mayor's Office.

The Department of Education meanwhile is monitoring the water situation in the south and is advising parents to plan on sending their children to school unless advised - otherwise DOE will make announcements to KUAM News early tomorrow morning.
