GEC holds final precinct official training

Guam - Four days remain until the general election tonight, the Guam Election Commission is conducting its final training for precinct officials to ensure everyone is prepared come November 6. Executive director Maria Pangelinan says as of today, they are short one precinct official in the village of Mangilao, but is still looking for alternates should precinct officials drop out due to various circumstances.

"But its to get them to learn the stuff so they can perform efficiently and effectively come 7 o'clock in the morning to 8 o'clock at night, and probably as important is to make sure that voter tabulation is done also in a very efficient manner," she said.

Applicants need to be a registered voter in the respective district, not be an immediate relative of a candidate running and be able to read and write in the English language. You can apply at the GEC offices or at http://gec.guam.gov. The GEC meanwhile will be meeting Saturday morning to discuss last minute details ahead of Super Tuesday.
