Guam - The Guam Police Department's Highway Patrol Division is investigating a serious car crash that sent three people to the hospital.   The crash occurred just minutes before 11:00 Wednesday night at the Barrigada tri-intersection.

GPD Spokesperson Officer AJ Balajadia says a man driving a 2008 Toyota Yaris heading North on Route 8 failed to obey the traffic signal at the intersection, colliding with a 2008 Hyundai Tucson that was attempting to turn left onto Route 10.

He adds police found a female minor passenger, who was in the Yaris on the floor behind the rear passenger seat, in serious condition.  She was taken to Naval Hospital in serious condition. The male driver was taken to GMH for possible internal injuries. KUAM News learned he is in critical condition and on life support.

The operator of the Tucson was transported to Naval Hospital complaining of neck, back and hip pain.
