Guam - Two public schools will receive their certificates for completing the six-week Gang Resistance, Education and Training Program this week. The GREAT Elementary curriculum was designed to produce positive behavioral and attitude changes for children in the 4th and 5th grade levels.
The program provides a combination of skills training, cooperative learning and role-playing that teach children how to deal with negative peer pressures they may encounter. The first graduation ceremony will be held Tuesday at Talofofo Elementary School at 1pm, and a second ceremony will be held Thursday at PC Lujan Elementary School at 9am.
To date, more than 2,600 hundred elementary and middle students in Guam's public schools have completed GREAT.
